How to Use All Purpose Planting Mix
True Organic® All Purpose Planting Mix is ready to use straight from the bag for raised beds, in- ground planting, and as a soil amendment.
Raised Beds & New Garden Beds
1. Fill your raised bed with True Organic® All Purpose Planting Mix, leaving 1-2 inches from the top.
2. For in-ground beds, spread a 4-6 inch layer and work it into the top 8-10 inches of native soil.
3. Level the surface and water thoroughly to settle the mix.
4. Plant seeds or transplants at the depth recommended on the plant label.
5. Water deeply after planting and maintain consistent moisture as plants establish.
Amending Existing Soil
6. Spread a 2-3 inch layer of planting mix over your existing garden soil.
7. Use a garden fork or tiller to work the mix into the top 6-8 inches of native soil.
8. For heavy clay or sandy soils, use a thicker layer (3-4 inches) for better results.
9. Water the area thoroughly after amending.
10. Repeat annually to maintain improved soil structure.
